About

I am an inveterate pattern maker. Usually for my own use, but sometimes I come up with something, and think it would be nice to share that – other people may want to make it too. I published a pattern for a roll top Brompton bag years ago, and still occasionally get folks writing to me about it. If you are interested, it’s here: Jane’s roll top Bromton bag

Recently I’ve turned my hand to educational patterns – I heard about a knitted gut, and wondered if it might be useful for the school I work at, but who on earth would want to knit that many metres of narrow tubing? So I thought about it, and came to the conclusion that I could buy the tubing ready made in the form of tubigauze and elasticated bandages, and just assemble it. So I did, and it works very well. My latest pattern is for an organs tabard, which I must admit I am very pleased with – so I am putting the pattern on here in case anyone else might like to make one too.

The model gut is seeing so much action at my school, that I’ve just made a second one, and the organs tabard is – according to one year 8 student – “the best lesson ever!”

Do let me know how you get on, and if you need any help with any of the patterns,

Jane
